1. What cookies are

Cookies are small files that a website stores on your device when you visit it, allowing your browser to be recognised on later visits. Alongside them there are other local storage technologies, such as the browser's «localStorage», which work in a similar way and which this policy also covers.

Cookies set by the atalai.net domain itself are called first-party; those set by another domain, such as Google's, are third-party.

2. This site sets nothing until you decide

Arriving at atalai.net sets no measurement or advertising cookies. The Google Analytics code is not even downloaded until you click «Accept» in the notice shown on your first visit.

If you click «Decline», no measurement is activated and you will not be asked again. The only thing stored in that case is your decision, so that it can be respected.

This site uses no advertising, social network or cross-site tracking cookies, neither now nor in any earlier version.

The only exception is the reCAPTCHA security cookie, which Google sets when the contact page opens so that it can tell people apart from automated programs. It is essential for the form to work without being flooded with spam, so it is exempt from the prior consent requirement as strictly necessary for a service you request; if you would rather it were not set, simply avoid the contact page and write directly to contacta@atalai.net.

4. Types of cookies by purpose

Classified by purpose, this site has:

• Technical or necessary: they enable basic operation and security. Here they are the key storing your cookie decision and the reCAPTCHA cookies. They are exempt from the consent requirement.
• Preference: this site uses none. Language is not stored in the browser: it is part of each page's address (/ca/, /es/, /en/).
• Analytics or measurement: the Google Analytics 4 cookies described above. They require your consent and are only activated if you give it.
• Advertising or ad profiling: this site uses none.
• By duration, cookies can be session cookies (deleted when you close the browser) or persistent (they remain for the stated period). All those described above are persistent.

5. How to accept, decline or change your decision

On your first visit a notice appears with two equally weighted, clearly labelled options: «Accept» and «Decline». Declining is as easy as accepting, no nagging messages are shown and no content is withheld for declining.

You can change your mind at any time using the «Manage cookies» button on this page, which brings the notice back so you can choose again. The new choice replaces the previous one.

You can also delete the «ts-cookie-consent» key from your browser's local storage: the notice will reappear on your next visit, as on the first one.

Withdrawing consent stops the measurement code from loading again, but it does not by itself delete cookies Google may already have set. To remove those completely, follow the instructions in the next section.

6. How to view, block or delete cookies in your browser

Every browser lets you view stored cookies, delete them and block third-party ones. The usual paths are:

• Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies / Cookies and other site data.
• Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
• Safari (macOS): Safari → Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data. On iOS: Settings → Safari → Block All Cookies.
• Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data.
• Other browsers offer equivalent options in their privacy section. Private or incognito browsing deletes cookies when you close the window.
• Note that blocking all cookies may stop the anti-spam check from working and therefore prevent the contact form from being submitted.

7. Google reCAPTCHA

The contact form is protected with Google reCAPTCHA v2 («I'm not a robot»). For this purpose Google collects information about the device and about behaviour on the page, for the sole purpose of telling people apart from automated programs.

Use of reCAPTCHA is governed by Google's Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy) and its Terms of Service (policies.google.com/terms), which you can consult at those addresses.

If Google's service is unavailable or blocked by your browser, the form automatically falls back to the sending provider's own anti-spam check, so that you can always get your message through.

8. Who processes the data and international transfers

The measurement and security cookies described are managed by Google, which acts as a processor and may access the data from outside the European Economic Area. Those transfers rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and, in addition, on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

9. Changes to this policy

This policy is reviewed whenever the site's tools or the applicable law change. If any new cookie requiring consent were added, consent would be requested again before setting it.
